Garrett Andrew Schneider, Ph.D.

Garrett brings nearly 10 years of experience in labor movement policy and research and progressive politics to the AFL-CIO Technology Institute.

Most recently, he served as policy director for SEIU’s Public Services Division, where he led the development and coordination of SEIU’s public services policy agenda across a wide range of federal issues affecting SEIU’s nearly 1 million members in state and local government and publicly funded services. Prior to SEIU, Garrett served as senior research and policy analyst at the Writers Guild of America West (WGAW). He completed a doctorate in sociology and was a visiting scholar at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
